Q-UGV Cesare takes center stage at Volpe Bianca 2025: technology and endurance at the service of the Alpine Troops

Volpe Bianca 2025, the international exercise of the Italian Army’s Alpine Troops, has concluded successfully. Over 1,300 soldiers participated in an intense week of training in the Dolomite peaks between Alto Adige and Veneto. In this high-altitude operational scenario, Veco Robotics’ Q-UGV Cesare once again demonstrated its capabilities in extreme conditions.

Designed to tackle complex and unstructured environments, Cesare supported high-altitude operations by providing autonomous mobility, transport, and reconnaissance capabilities in snowy and rugged environments, integrating with units on the ground. Its presence during Exercise “Arctic Shield,” part of Volpe Bianca, provided a concrete example of operational use in an Arctic environment, alongside assets from the 3rd, 5th, and 7th Alpine Regiments, along with drones, electronic warfare systems, and other advanced technological means.

Equipped with artificial intelligence and an intelligent balancing system, the Q-UGV operated at over 2,000 meters above sea level on snow and ice, confirming its reliability in maneuver support, even in the presence of natural obstacles, transportable loads, or sudden changes in terrain. The Q-UGV Cesare, born from the exclusive partnership between Veco Robotics and Ghost Robotics, stood out for its high operational autonomy and ability to adapt to tactical needs in the field, confirming its status as a cutting-edge tool in the technological evolution of land forces. Volpe Bianca 2025 represented a real-world testbed for emerging technologies and international cooperation, and the Q-UGV Cesare’s contribution highlights how land robotics is becoming increasingly central to modern military operations, even in the most extreme contexts.
